Shocking Statistics Reveal Children as Young as Two Are Using Antidepressants

More than 26,000 under the age of 16 are being prescribed the medication

Children as young as two are being prescribed antidepressants which could be leading to higher suicide rates, despite no such medication recommended for use in children.

There are 1,022 Australian children aged two to six taking antidepressants, according to Daily Telegraph, while 26,000 children under the age of 16 are using the medications.

Many studies have shown a correlation between antidepressant use in children and suicidal ideation, although there is no consensus on the issue in the medical industry.
