New study shows dexamphetamine misuse among WA teens ‘common’

The misuse of prescription amphetamine or ‘dexies’ is common among WA teens, according to new research, with calls to beef up prescribing controls.

According to Dr Martin Whitely, Research Fellow at the John Curtin Institute of Public Policy at Curtin University, anecdotal evidence shows WA teens are commonly taking ‘dexies’ to “binge drink, study, or skip sleep”.
