The number of young West Australian children on ADHD medication has rebounded to the same level as a decade ago when concerns were raised about high prescribing rates.
The latest Stimulant Regulatory Scheme report shows that more than 20,000 West Australians, including 8000 children, were prescribed stimulant medication for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder last year, a 10 per cent increase from 2014.
More than 158,000 prescriptions were dispensed, 60 per cent of them to adults.
